Erdoğan hailing his supporters with Turk-supremacist grey wolves hand sign in a public rally

On the news that Turkey renames new US embassy street ‘Malcolm X Avenue’  (see below)

Dear Erdoğan and co.,

We know that after your Muhammad Ali funeral scandal, you are trying real hard to make it up by abusing Malcolm’s name: co-opting Malcolm’s daughter Ilyasah Shabazz to praise you, and then renaming the US Embassy’s street in Ankara after Br. Malcolm, trying to score points with the American Muslim community, especially with the black liberation community in the US and all over the world.

But mind you, in your regime’s nomenclature Br. Malcolm is a terrorist, a separatist, a communist-anarchist, an anti-war traitor (like us), who would let alone not “support our soldiers” as you expect us when you are invading other people’s lands, killing and dispossesing them in your racist wars; but would mock his political leader’s assassination as “chickens coming home to roost.” Your courts would definitely send him to jail for a life term if your dear MHP cohorts’ mob/hit men members had not taken him out already.

What you have been doing to Kurds is way worse than what the current American system has been doing to Malcolm, Black Panthers, and the black communities. You are in cohorts with the exact equivalents of KKK folks, white supremacists: the ultranationalist, fascist, Turk-supremacist MHP. Your regime is propped up by them, and it can currently survive only due to their support as you have long lost your majority, and you are a hostage to their policies.

And we know you learned these tricks from the Iranian regime that named Egyptian embassy street after Khaled Eslamboli in Tehran. At least come up with something original.

And leave Malcolm alone, stop abusing his name for your little games. Just name the street after some mythical or real Turkic hero who killed lots of enemies, Armenians or Greeks, as your constituency would be much happier.

Turkey renames new US embassy street ‘Malcolm X Avenue’

City authorities in Turkey’s capital, Ankara, have renamed the street where the new US embassy is being built “Malcolm X Avenue”, after the civil rights leader, state media reported.

In February, the city renamed the street outside the current US embassy “Olive Branch”, which is what Turkey called one of its military campaigns in Syria. Ankara is at odds with Washington over its backing of forces led by the Kurdish YPG militia, which Turkey views as a terrorist group.

Malcolm X remains a divisive figure in US history and Ankara’s move will likely be received negatively by critics who say he stirred racist and anti-American sentiment.

“The street was given the name of US Muslim politician and human rights defender Malcolm X, about whom President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, ‘We will make his name live on in Ankara,’” Ankara’s municipality said in a statement published by Anadolu news agency on Saturday.

Last month, Erdoğan met Malcolm X’s daughters during a visit to New York. Erdoğan’s spokesman Ibrahim Kalin shared the story about the name change on his Twitter account on Sunday.
